To celebrate Guatemala’s first participation at the International Fashion Showcase as part of London Fashion Week, Scalo 502 and the Embassy of Guatemala hosted a cocktail party at Coya, the acclaimed Latin American restaurant in the heart of London.
Coya and the designs of the five Guatemalan designers were a match made in heaven. The vibrant colours of all the pieces (the handbags, the clothes and the necklaces) were accentuated by the eclectic ambiance of the Mayfair venue and its Latin vibes. Several Ambassadors from Latin America, such as the Mexican, Peruvian, Chilean, and Belizean Ambassadors joined the party and celebrated with us this wonderful occasion.
We were delighted to share this experience with our London friends who could see a little bit of the Guatemalan culture and taste two of the best rums that Central America offers: Ron Botran and Ron Abuelo.
Scalo 502 is very proud for having been chosen by the British Fashion Council to be part of the International Fashion Showcase at Somerset House. It has been humbling and inspiring to be able to share this experience with such talented designers like David Valencia, Ho Piezas Unicas, Van Meus, and Isabella Springmul. Special thanks to the curator of the stand, the Cultural Attaché of the Guatemalan Embassy, Cecilia Santamarina de Orive. Guatemala was nominated for the Curation Award with a Honorific mention. Some say first time lucky, we say passion!
